I found “Take This Fish and Look at It” a very interesting story. It’s about a student studying a fish and telling his professor about the appearance of the creature. One of the things I liked the most is when the student discovered to draw the fish and when the professor told him “… a pencil is one of the best of eyes.” The moral in the story is basically to pay good attention to the things in the world and study them deeply. I find that this is important because all we have in life is the world around us so we should study and increase our knowledge about items in the world. Observing things and figuring out how they work is something I really like to learn. Even though the student went through a lot of pain having to study an old and hideous fish, I’m sure he really appreciated the lesson the professor had taught him. Another point from the professor I liked was when he said facts are stupid things until brought into connection with some general law. This story has really inspired me to dig deeper into things to figure out more information about an idea or physical thing.
