This was an amazing essay. The amount of risk that Dillard took to save that man's life is extremely admirable. The world would be a much better place with more selfless people like him. What amazes me the most is that he realized the potentially life ruining risk that he was taking. I think it show's that he thinks very highly of people in general. In my opinion, what he did was the right thing to do. To keep driving after seeing something like that take place seems quite heartless. It is especially wrong for something training to be some type of medical doctor. As a doctor, I'm very certain that you are required to help someone in medical need. Even though he was still in training, I believe that you should still do that same. A career is not close to what a human life is. With that being said, the last sentence of the essay with Dillard talking about what he would do if he did that over again really stuck with me. He said he would drive on. It seems to me that he puts himself and things in his life over other human life.
