One thing that I got out of this passage was that paying close attention to things in your life is important. It is a lesson learned, as it is not an innate feature that every human is born with. I believe that it takes many trials and more importantly, many failures to truly understand what it means to pay attention to things, people, work, and places. It is not until we render ourselves free of the busy lives we all live that slow down just enough to take in and actually process what our eyes are capturing. The lesson is rather important and the sooner it is learned, the less trouble and problems we will face. I liked how the lesson was portrayed in the story. I liked how you tell the authors obvious distress about being given such a mundane and boring task by someone he held in high regards. Would I read the story over, or for any form of recreational reading? No I certainly would not, it is to educational for my taste, but it wasn't too bad in comparison.

I really respect and agree with what you are stating. The society we live in is so fast paced that it really is rare for one to take in details. It's a lesson that is worth learning. This learning though, as you stated is full of trial and error, one may fail many times over, but in the end they will be wiser, and actually see what they are experiencing.
