I like this guy's professor. The lesson he taught the student was deep. I'm glad it took him a lot of work to find the meaning of such extensive examining of the fish. Though I kind of felt sorry for him, having to prod some smelling dead gross creature, but then again if he was going to go into this field area, I guess he had to be capable of handling such specimens. Anyways, I like how he was taught to look deeper, not just take things for face value. It can be good to closely examine objects, it can change our original perception of them and see them in a whole new light. After putting so much into drawing haemulons, it was no longer like any other fish. He was influenced so much by it that he could only draw that type - how incredible. I think it can be really significant to go about examining things within your life the same way, whether it be with the appearances in daily life or just emotions. It could help a person avoid a dangerous situation, or handle a bad experience better. The professor had certainly taught him an important lesson.
