Response to Take This Fish And Look At It

I would go mad if I had to stare at a fish for three days. I would get so distracted and forget all about the fish. That and the smell. I have a really weak stomach and I can take the fish smell but I'm not so sure about the dead-fish-that-has-been-preserved-in-alcohol smell. I would get sick of the smell and give the fish back. I can understand why the guy stayed with he fish and put up with he smell and dead, creepiness o it. If I wanted something really bad and had to study a dead fish I would do it. He wanted to be in that class so he put up with it. It seemed like he was kind of challenging himself to stick with it. It was something he really wanted and he had to put up with that fish to get what he really wanted. I can also see where the Professor was coming from. If you really try and focus and pick apart what you are looking at, with your eyes, you will really see what you are studying and understand it more. You can't just look at something once and completely understand it. You have to study it.
