Response to "Take this fish and look at it"

I didn't understand this story in the beginning but after reading the whole thing it made sense. Honestly I don't know would I would do if I had to stare at a smelly fish for hours on end until I figured out the meaning. It made me realize that we are taking our lives to fast paced and need to slow down and focus on the little things. I liked how the author described the whole process and his unique word choice. I need to work on expanding my vocabulary as well. After reading this it makes me laugh. Its crazy how we can learn a lesson from just staring at a fish. Learning something in a unique way can stay in our minds longer then if a teacher would've just told us straight up, and not make us use our brain. If I was Samuel Scudder I would have given up. I would not have been able to look past the fish like he did.
