I found this article to be very interesting. It was pretty insane how Edwards had stolen the exact phrases in Tolme's book. To write a romantic novel about a Pioneer woman having an affair with a Native American and including very detailed scientific information about black-footed ferrets had me at the greatest 'wow'. Like Tolme had wrote in this article, it seems pretty unlikely that these people would have such knowledge about these animals. Her writing and style in writing was awful. The dialog with the two characters was pretty off as well. I could only sit and think how dumb-founded her 'work' was. It was stunning how awkward it was to put into a romantic novel. I think now how she used plagiarism to the extreme should be criminal. Like Tolme wrote, I agree what she had done was a basic cut and paste from his research on the creatures. She really owed Tolme a very deep apology and some. What she did was really more than crazy. But after reading about his research about these ferrets I feel bad for them because of how people are poisoning the colonies of prairie dogs, which are the ferrets primary source of food. They now are almost extincted. In ending, I'd like to express how I think what Edwards did wasn't just a mistake but a slap in the face to hard working writers. Plagiarism is really wrong and just so shallow.

I agree with you, Joey. This article was interesting. I just don't understand why she would use facts about a Meerkat in a roman novel. And yes, it was awkward to put them in the story as if someone reading a romance novel would want to learn about Meerkats. Not only that, but some wrong facts about Meerkats.
